Borrowed from the Honolulu Craigslist Bike shit:
"If anyone out there sees a nice light blue metallic MOSER racing bike circa 1970's with full Campagnolo Nuovo record, 60 cm size, pls take a cell phone photo, of who riding it, etc or find out who/where it is now, because its STOLEN from me! They had to cut a huge cable, so they were determined -- I doubt there is another bike like it here on Oahu, and in that 24"/60cm size. Has nice paint, very nice bright blue metallic and chrome areas up the rear stays. Has MOSER engraved ( pantographed ) onto the seatpost, stem and chainrings. Theif may change out some of the parts, but the bright metallic light blue frame w/chrome is still very obvious. Need the bike posse to Pls keep an eye out for me if you see it or see it for sale anywhwere, pls let me know at 221-9911 Mahalo Keith"
Bike thieves suck- usually they have no idea what they have- they're just looking for a quick buck. But it's even worse when it's one of "us" and they did know what they had. I figure a quick, intense beating is ok for those fuckers (same with the crackheads who have no idea what the bike is worth historically or otherwise- they have no scale of "cool")- (and anyhow- they're used to it- beat the everlovin' shit outa them and they'll hardly know you've even been there. That's day-to-day shit for a crackhead- it's on their "to-do" list: "Vomit. Sleep in the street. Rant a lot at regular people. Steal shit. Get ass kicked. Get food from churches. Start over.")
Anyhow- help the brother out- someone is Frankensteining his Campy parts. That is low. Someone should ream this bike thief with a 25.4 seat post (just to be humane.)
PALI UNDERGROUND- GUERILLA HILLBOMBERS

Last Sunday's lost weekend type bullshit.

Got a Specialized "Speedzone Elite" a couple weeks back, and have been fucking around with it, trying to get cops to give me a speeding ticket on my otherwise innocuous and somewhat unfashionable rides. Thus far I haven't even gotten a cop to so much as crack a smile. Douchbags- 99.9% of them. (The other tiny percentage used to drink and play after-hours pool with us in Kona at a seedy Greek bar with the most heinous food and the absolute best bartenders. Those guys were dope. They always made sure we got home safe- always decent stand-up guys and totally cool.) (End of rose tinted glasses rant. Cest la vie- I'm not in Kansas anymore.) I went 34 in a 25 the other day and I saw the man spock me with the gun. Rookie Blue didn't know what to do. That made me smile. ;)
Went down towards the West Side on family stuff last Sunday and figured I'd give the Cratoni a trial run on the Makakilo hill. I haven't done shit on the Cratoni since I bought it (except un-true the rim slightly one evening on the way home from the pub) but I felt optimism in the air and took a WTF attitude about it. This led to that and that got in the way of this and I ended up never getting above the H1 @ Makakilo. So on my way home I got dropped off at Kam Highway in front of HPU and I did a quick test run of the new speedo on the bottom half of the Pali. Hit sixty mph at the very bottom, without ever pedaling- that was pretty alright. I still need to have someone double-check my calibration on the speedo- I just did it myself, following the instructions- I think I'd like a second opinion before I start bragging about whatever humble speed I hit.
Lost my keys on the way down- figured that out when I got home- so I rode the bus back up and did it again. Afternoons suck- the trades factor in big time. Only hit 57 on that trip- and actually I was seriously disappointed.
I did find my keys- that was cool. Right at the bottom.
